Vysehrad Castle is located in the city of Prague (capital of the Czech Republic), built on a hill overlooking the Vltava river in the 10th century. There is located the Cathedral of St. Paul and Peter within the castle area.
Original fortress was built in the 10th century. Local legend says hat Vysehrad is the site of the first settlement that later become Prague.
Vyšehrad and the castle area became part of the Prague city in 1883. The area is one of the districts of Prague.
